Comedian and host Ellen DeGeneres will be honored with the Carol Burnett Award at this year's Golden Globe Award.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced this on Monday. This award is chosen by the Board of Directors of HFPA and is given every year to a person who has made his invaluable contribution to television.
Ellen was in the news for her statement recently, stating that when she was a teenager, she was sexually assaulted by her mother's then husband. Ellen had said that his mother Betty had a sexual assault when he had breast cancer.
This was first revealed by Ellen in a 2005 interview to a magazine.
